I am unable to get a connection to My Way Out. It appears there is something wrong between the site and my server.

Could someone just go to the site and make a thread, saying OceanaOcean says Hello! People are PMing me, and I am unable to respond because they are going through the site and I have no access.

Have you tried entering the site via a proxy site? That's what I do when a site doesn't want to let me in.

That is weird.

Are you in the US?

I cannot get to this site at work. All I get is the typical site not found message. I finally resigned to believe that maybe corporate had blocked it with the sonic wall though normally sonic was gives youa message. I would have asked my IT people but did not want to bring attention to myself. I am a closetted alcoholic.

Besides, I can get in with my PDA.

Hi all, Thanks! I had never experienced this problem before now. I was able to access the site today when I was in another town. I did then, too, email the site administrators as did WIP. Marabella and happy4once wrote for me in the MWO forum, thanks good people.

IT"S LONELY OUT HERE! But I feel so much better now having made a few connections.

Ocean, that has happened to me before but not with MWO I don't think- someone told me why it happens but I cannot remember now, but it should right itself in less than a week- something about internet providers updating DNS servers? Sorry really can't remember.

But it you go to google and type in proxy site, then go to the proxy site and type in www.mywayout.org you should be able to go in just fine.

More than likely, MWO changed their ISP or the location where they are hosting the site, resulting in an IP change. Propagation of this IP change through the DNS infrastructure isn't instantaneous, but can take 3-5 days. It is not uncommon for one person to successfully connect to a site while another cannot, because the one DNS has been updated while the other has not yet.

Give it a couple days or use this IP address:

[root@nameserver ~]# nslookup mywayout.org

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: mywayout.org
Address: 74.200.73.142

I did try to enter a proxy site but did not have access.

I tried [root@nameserver~]#nslookupmywayout.org

Am I to type that in (as above)? If so I did not get anywhere.

I am not very computer savvy, trying my best.
