I would wait 48 hrs. I had to go off TSM (NAL) for 2-3 weeks do to illness and was on percocet for part of this time. I took a NAL about 24hrs after my last percocet dose and was hit with a RAGING headache that lasted about 12 hrs. Lena also reported a bad experience with taking NAL shortly after taking opiate pain medications.

NAL and opiates are just a bad combination. Keep them well away from each other.

Hi Q.
This is really important information, especially for us newbies.
Perhaps there should be a thread where all the do's and dont's of taking NAL are listed.
I take (used to take) Codeine based pain killers for my bad back et al, so when my Dr prescribed NAL he just said "it blocks the opiate receptors". He never said keep them well apart.

Very serious combo. WTE you were very lucky indeed. I would suggest you wait at the minimum 3 days to be safe! Who really knows for sure what could happen to you. Be careful!

From p 228 of The Cure for Alcoholism:

Quote:
Treatment should not be attempted unless the patient has remained opioid-free for at least 7 to 10 days.
