I've been doing it for 7 months, religiously...nothing is happening. Initially it did but I am now drinking to levels higher than pre TSM. I'll die if I stay on this regime. I'm very disappointed and see only failed stories from others. I don't buy this method, at all.

Mum,

Are you taking any other meds? It's odd that you would get an initial reaction then climb back up this late into TSM.

Have you checked in with CThreeFoundation about this?

Is a doctor prescribing the Naltrexone for you?

Mumofone - it took me 11 months, it took ChrisB 2 years! Cheeto still struggles - this is not an exact science. I understand that you are frustrated - if you looked through my thread, you would see there were times when I thought it was never going to work - but you just have to have faith and patience! I agree with Joe - check out the other website and see if Joanna can give you any suggestions ....so sorry that you are so down right now.

Hugs, Maggie

The fact that your numbers dropped by half early on indicates the medication was working. Did you employ the mindfulness techniques oft discussed on the CThree forum (to avoid drinking through the meds) ? As Joe suggested any other medications? Off-putting life events? - I looked back at your posts and you indicate traumatic events. Further, is your partner a big drinker? If you didn't use therapy in conjunction perhaps you should do that as well (i did). You should reach out to CThree.

I'm sorry this is happening. I can totally understand your frustration. Perhaps restructuring would produce different results moving forward.

I'm sorry you are frustrated, but as Maggie says there are lots of people for whom it took a year or more to work. Also, there are many many success stories, so please don't have a skewed view!! I hope you see the results you want soon.

my first few months were quite up and down, and around month eight, a LOT of things just clicked for me. it looks like you HAVE made progress, so try not to be so discouraged. TSM can be a roller coaster, and you might be closer than you think to a breakthrough. it really HAS helped a lot of people. good luck!

Besides, what do you really have to lose? And what is the alternative?

Hang in there!! Newlife

Mumofone, I am sorry for your frustration. If I look back on my progress thread over the past year I see many times that I felt what you are feeling. Remember that alcoholism a progressive disease so your will only continue to grow worse, with your drinking escalating, unless you take some action. Bardo gave you good advice. I think that at the beginning I thought I was going to take the magic pill and everything would be all better. I realize now that the moderation management techniques are key. The support of others is also very helpful. I hope you will hang in there.

Deena's right. it's really worth hanging in there for. and honestly, you're not risking much by giving it a go. take care and know we're with you on this.
