Hi all,

Most of you know I've been steadily declining in the amount I drink. Well, last week I had a couple of real over the top days, where I drank as heavily as ever, and felt the same old effects. Man, was I bumming over that!

Well, my cravings on Fri. and Sat. were very high again, and I just couldn't understand it. Then I got to thinking about it, and realized that I just started taking RU-21 when I drink. It's a pill that helps your liver to more efficiently metabolize alcohol, and therefore decreases hangovers. While I hadn't had a hangover since starting TSM, I did think it wise to give my liver whatever help I could, so ordered the supplement online.

I am convinced the RU-21 interfered with the Naltrexone, so the Nal wasn't working as it usually does. I took the Nal, but not the supplement, before heading out to a get-together yesterday. I drank heavily the day before, and WAS hung over. Usually I remedy this with several drinks. Yesterday, without the RU-21, my craving was down to nearly zero. I could easily have gone AF, had we not been committed to attending the party. (Actually, we were bringing the main course - authentic smoked Memphis style ribs. Mmmmmmm. . .) But, I digress.

Again today, my craving is zilch. Zero. Nada. I am not going to take the RU-21, and I am planning to enjoy an AF day. Yesterday I only had a couple glasses of wine - it just didn't appeal to me all that much.

Just a warning - I think it wise to stay away from RU-21 while working TSM. It was totally counter-productive for me. . .and the ONLY thing that changed on the days my cravings spiked way up.

Alternate thought: Your brain may be experiencing extinction and is compelling you to drink more, as a last gasp effort to get the high that it is not getting. My drinking in week 11 is getting erratic; something is definitely changing. Perhaps you are undergoing the same phenomenon.
