Hello, I know I'm new to TSM and initially had been taking 50mg an hour before drinking this last week,
but the last couple of days I have upped the dose from 50mg to 75mg.
Taking 50mg in the morning and 25mg in the evening, is this safe?

Why are you doing that? Are you drinking all day long and wanting all-day protection?

For most people it's safer to go higher, but we should only do it if we need to -- if 50mg isn't blocking all the relevant receptors. There's also no point in taking it long before drinking; in fact it can be counterproductive. One hour beforehand should be plenty unless you have thickly coated tablets, and the usual solution to those is to cut them rather than to take them earlier.

What's up with your plan? Is something going awry with the standard protocol? Maybe we can help.

I took 50mg on Saturday and Sunday morning as I felt there may be a chance I might of drank during the say, because I was feeling a bit hung over. I didn't in the end, so it was actually pointless, but I then took an extra 25mg early evening's just to be sure I wasn't risking drinking on the Naltrexone from the morning leaving my system and starting a high when I drank. It seems very illogical when I write it now!

But there isn't really any harm done if you sometimes take slightly more nal than you need (assuming your tolerance is decent), or take it on a non-drinking occasion. You just don't want to get into the habit.

Unless your cravings come on so suddenly and intensely that waiting an hour is out of the question, try to wait until you're certain you'll be drinking. The drug will be more effective and you won't have to do without endorphins in your everyday life.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I used to take my naltrexone pretty early in the day because I knew my willpower would probably falter later. I had very good results by taking it as soon as the first, tiny thought of not taking it entered my mind.
