Hello to all. I am sorry to sound so needy but I really need some advice from you all. My numbers are really up. They have not been this high in months. It seems like I am either AF or I drink until I sometimes can't remember going to bed. After all this time why is this happening? I am really afraid. What if after all this time this doesn't work? What am I doing wrong? This is my last hope.

Thanks for your help.

How long have you been following TSM?

Do you always use naltrexone 1 hour before drinking alcohol?

What have your totals looked like pre TSM and over the course of the time you've been following it?

By the way it is normal to go back to 'old' drinking habits at various points in the TSM journey, so do not worry.

Thanks UK. I have been at this for 14 months. I can think of only 3 times I did not take my pill. For the last few months my numbers have been in the teens or low twenties. My mom has been here this week and my stress level is way high. I am starting to wonder if that is not a major factor in my number spike.

"Why is this happening?" Ultimately, of course, it's because you yourself are drinking large amounts of alcohol (it's not like your white blood cell count is rising -- you do have power). I can see how you're afraid because, like so many, this is a last-ditch effort and, if even this doesn't work, what hope is there!??!

You really need to find ways for "non-drinker mom" to sabotage "drinker mom." When you're sober and before you've turned from Dr. Jeckyl to Mrs. Hyde, think of ways you can make sure that tonight's drinking won't end up being way high. For example, don't keep booze stocked in your house. Make frequent trips to the liquor store when sober and buy what you choose to drink before your free will is consumed by alcohol. Don't chug alcohol and overwhelm your system. And, if possible, tell a loved one your plans for that evening so that you have more incentive to stick to them: "I'm only going to have a half a bottle of wine tonight, so don't let me drink more, o.k.?" If you have plenty of Naltrexone, try taking 50mg as normal, and then 25mg after the first two drinks (that seems to calm the mad rush for more alcohol for some).

If you have the strength to do multiple AF days (which many on here don't!), you have the strength to find ways to make sure your drinking nights are not a disaster. You can do it...

I think you might be having a 'new trigger' spike. I had a couple following a new situation in my life, eventually it sorted itself out(ie the drinking went back to not really wanting any). I've also never not drunk without naltrexone, they say the reversion can be quick so do take care.

Whenever I've had a spike and doubts I've asked myself "Do I have that overpowering urge to drink the next morning", the answer has always been "No" and that was proof to me it was still working - prior to TSM a binge might end at the end of the night but I'd often really want to carry on being drunk the next morning.

Great advice Barry and UK. This last weekend I was away with a friend on a short trip. It gave me time to think. This weeks numbers are the lowest ever which is a VERY good thing. Also, my favorite drink use to be white wine. The thought of it makes me want to gag! Another VERY good thing. Thanks for all your support and help. Couldn't make this journey without you all!

I am sure whenever I had a spike there was a distinct drop at the other side.

umm... if there wasn't a drop on the other side, it wouldn't have been a spike...

That's ok.

I meant a drop to below pre-spike levels.
