It has been 7 months since I have had to reorder, thanks to the success of TSM. But when I went to get my nal from River today, they said it is not available in the us anymore! I ordered from ADC for the first time, so hopefully that works out OK.

Just another bonus of being cured: only having to re-up every 6 months or so :)

Did River say why they were no longer going to ship to the US? For those of us just getting started and hoping to stay off the US Health Insurance Industry's radar screen running out of NAL could be a major setback to progressing with The Sinclair Method.

When I went to the website yesterday, where it normally gives the price for naltrexone it said "Not available in the US". Today it gives the prices as usual, so it is possible that it was just a mistake. They are in the process of redoing their website, so it could have been some kind of glitch.

As an alternative I went to All Day Chemist, and they seem to be shipping out my order as requested.

I will have to admit that I am afraid of what this new "healthcare deal" will bring in terms of our ability to get the meds we need for ourselves. The gov is never really big on diy, as it tends to put them out of a job. (grouchy semi-political rant for the day - sorry :( )

I just got off the phone with River.

She assured me that they *do* still ship to the U.S. but there has been a problem with their website. It should, as Firebird notes, be fixed now. If you every have problems in the future, call them at their toll-free number. They are very nice and apparently available on Saturday too.

Thanks N101CS for verifying River was still shipping to the US and for setting up this great board. I've enjoyed reading your posts and I think we have a lot in common. I hope you've hit your switch with Baclofen. I found Dr. Ameisen's book fascinating and I think Baclofen could be very beneficial to GABA drinkers or anyone needing to treat anxiety or tension that is comorbid with a drinking problem. I found it interesting that Dr. Ameisen tried Naltrexone but as an anticraving med. and not the TSM way. Did you have a chance to discuss TSM with him? Likewise I wonder what Drs. Sinclair and Eskapa think of high dose baclofen ala Dr. Ameisen. The University of North Carolina has just completed a pilot study that looked at Naltrexone and Baclofen together but the Baclofen dosage was only 30mg per day and it doesn't say in the study design how the 50mg dose of Naltrexone was to be taken. It would be great to see a study done with Naltrexone taken TSM style with high dose baclofen. Perhaps it will happen in the future.
