Someone here gave me a link to a spreadsheet to use for calculating units of alcohol consumed, but I wasn't able to access it. Since my wife is an accountant, I thought I'd have her put one together for me, but just about every unit calculator I find online is for the UK (not that there's anything wrong with that). Anyone know where I can find one with US units? So far, this is what I have:

Alcohol Type - Units

Standard beer - 12 oz./5% - 1
Pint of beer - 16 oz. - 2
Spirits - 1.5 oz./40% - 1
Home-poured spirits - 3 oz. - 2
Glass of wine - 5 oz./12% - 1

Sorry it didn't retain my formatting.

1 UK unit is 10ml of pure alcohol. 1 US unit is 17ml of pure alcohol. 1 US Fluid oz ~ 30ml

If you have 12oz of beer at 5% that is 0.6 oz of pure alcohol = 18ml of pure alcohol which is just over 1 US unit.

Unless you drink a very wide variety of drinks, it is pretty easy to figure out once how many units there are per glass/bottle/can etc

Thanks - that seems pretty close to what I came up with. When my wife gets back from a wedding I think I'll have her help me make a spreadsheet that does the unit conversion for me. Because me and math? Not buddies.
