I just started last night. Felt a little spaced even before I had a drink. I had approx 4 glasses of wine and felt like I had only had 1/2 glass. Felt anxious when I went to bed and took awhile to get to sleep but my sleep was really good and I felt great this morning. Nal was not available at my pharmacy so I was give the original drug - Revia at 50 mg. Does that make any difference do you think? Welcome KathyB, Nal is just short for Naltrexone, the actual drug. Revia is the original brand of Naltrexone but there are other generic brands available too- Naltima, Depade, Vivitriol and others. I only have experience with Revia brand and that works just fine for me. Other people on this board use other brands and I don't recall too many problems being reported. The side effects you're experiencing (feeling spaced out, anxious, insomnia) are very common and mostly occur in the first few weeks then go away. Most agree that side effects are actually a way of determining whether you will respond to Naltrexone. Ie if you have side effects in the first 2 weeks then you will probably respond to Naltrexone. Try to record your drinks and post often. You will find a lot of support on this board. Good luck.
