I got Nodict-branded Nal from River; it comes as 10-pill foil packages. I'd like to always have some Nal w/ me but I'm not a wallet guy - does anyone know if it's OK to take the pills out of the foil for an extended period? I was thinking of getting a pill-fob for my keychain (like these: http://www.amazon.com/Holder-Keychain-A ... 935&sr=8-3)

My prescription naltrexone doesn't even come in a wrapper so no worries my friend.

Great minds think alike Tito I bought that exact set of capsules. They have a small plastic vial inside that I can fit two Nals into. I kept one on my keychain, one in the car, one at work, etc.

Naltrexone pills are mildly deliquescent, which is why they come with a moisture absorbent when you get them from a pharmacy in their "original" packaging. That said, I have had no problems taking pills that are months old, and I live in Florida where the air is saturated most of the time, and still every pill seems as effective as the next. I suspect that the absorbent is to keep the binding agent of the pill from falling apart, which is what happens if you keep one in your wallet; it eventually become dust.

Thanks, PV, that's my plan as well. I always want to be ready - living in the city, my drinking can end up being pretty spontaneous. Having to wait an hour will be a pain in some situations, but so be it; until I get further in, I think I'll end up taking a pill a bit before the end of work daily, since I'm usually having a few not long after that.

That would be an ideal place to put a medic alert re: naltrexone. Could you roll it up and stick it in there and still have room for the pills?

I keep one of these aluminum wallet cards (in red). Since I'm now taking Nal only once a week typically (and 13 AF days last cycle), I keep a re-writable label on the back with "Last dose: date" on it.
