Loop

I have to ask you this. Do you attribute the baclofen to your motivation? Meaning I have been reading your weekly progress and when you started taking it you barley drank for a short period it seemed like then MAM O MAN BROTHER your work-out regime...that has to take SOME SERIOUS motivation. I guess other question for you is how did you get such a strong Drive and Motivation to adhear to that in such a reality short time?

Very very impressive. I wish I had your level of energy/motivation my friend.

Oh no not at all. That's all me. Without alcohol of course. This is what I did last time I got sober 2 years ago: http://www.thesinclairmethod.net/community/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=928&sid=01db4b230f5b1f25f8e5a5dafd2e98c9

I think I used antabuse for 3 days then let flush out of my system for 3 days then got smashed once a week on day 7.

No, the baclofen has nothing to do with it at all. I've been here the entire time too, furious as hell that AL sapped all my energy so I couldn't hold a decent routine together. It bugged the **** out of me too because I knew exactly what it would take and what to do but AL was always in my way.

Now, I feel like a fu*king tiger, nothing can stop me. In 6 weeks I'll look AND feel like a Spartan warrior. It's not just that kind of motivation either. I think my IQ has jumped 20 points since being AF  .

My demon is dead now.

This is the real me.

Here I come...

Lo0p,

I'm still a little confused.

Before you started Baclofen you were in a terrible state. You took the Baclofen (albeit for anyone else please increase at a smaller dosage) and things seemed to magically level out. I per your suggestion am going to try and get some Baclofen either online or beg my shrink, but she seems to think it has abuse potential.

Anyways, once you started the Baclofen, what changed? I seem to be stagnating somewhere. Functional alcoholism. I still try adn work out everyday, but the thought of AF is overwhelming at times. I think my cravings are down but the habit is something I wasn't taking into account. I thought it would be less effort....

My wife will be gone for a week starting in 12 hours  so I worry a little what might happen as I no longer have to hide. Anyways can you clarify? Best Jim Clark

PS Happy New Years everybody and Be Safe ;)

If you take the alcohol out of the equation everything changes.

I'm quite sure there were one or two studies that I sent you where the researchers tried to gauge baclofen's abuse potential and came up empty handed.

I think the question is, after 4 months of Nal you'd made basically zero progress... then you introduced baclofen and *boom*, you're not drinking. Did you just suddenly not feel like drinking?

Here's a different angle: do you consider yourself part of the 20% (or whatever that number is) for which straight TSM doesn't work? I ask because I don't see a pharmacological extinction curve on your chart.

Oh...Okay.

Well, first of all, all of this is in my weekly progress thread. I only did straight TSM for 12 weeks (technically that is 1 1/2 weeks shy of 3 months) prior to starting baclofen, which is hardly enough time to gauge it's effectiveness. I don't consider myself part of the 20%, a full explanation is in my progress thread. I plan on continuing TSM concurrently and maybe getting back to drinking/TSM more when I'm done with my 'vacation' as it were.

I'm sure you found my informational thread about baclofen over at MWO: http://www.mywayout.org/community/f20/consolidated-baclofen-information-thread-38718.html Did you check out the youtube video? Yes, baclofen makes you 'suddenly not feel like drinking.'
