That's why I love the McCaul study (it was a link in another thread - by Virgil, I think??) that presents fresh evidence that the success rate may vary due to the doseage. It also recommends a blood test but my doc said, see how it goes for 2 months...[My italics]

Hi houtx,

I've just posted on your weekly progress thread and mentioned that this fresh evidence is, in fact, no less than nine years old. That's a bitter pill to swallow (pun intended!).

How do you post a screenshot, or attachment, of the xls spreadsheet that LoOp was so kind as to design? A couple of days short of 12 weeks, mine does not look very encouraging. :(

LoOp, how would you feel about a "clean up" of this thread so the graphs can shine, with perhaps a little explanatory narrative from you?

I'll be around long after I'm cured. I'll keep compiling the data and analyzing it. I'm sure that after a while we'll have enough data to make a thread that's "stickyworthy." If everyone thinks it'd be that helpful now, then sure, but I think it'd be much more powerful of an illustration after another few months. I've also just today started tracking the member count of this board, I'm confident I'll be able to show everyone an example of exponential growth within a few months. :D

I would love to see graphs for all of THE CURED, which also include a notation of how many years each person drank heavily. As I said, I think we may be able to identify some patterns for how long extinction takes to occur using these variables.

Yes, I want that data. If we could develop a protocol that goes beyond Eskapa and Sinclair's suggestion of just the drinking diary, and includes that data specifically...even if it is inaccurate, as more of it is compiled I think we will be able to show a trend.

A lot of interesting data here. Bayes rule would be another way to look at the data and works when there is missing values.

I do wished I would have tracked my progress more accurectly. I am a terrible bean counter and just relied on intuitive progress. I was also bad at meassuring cravings. I had no idea how to put a meter to a subjective feeling. I am a little OCD in that if I can't do something perfect, I won't do it at all.

I am glad that others did record their progress and it does allow us to look at ourselves from 20,000 ft rather than the microscope that we are accustomed to using. This will be invaluable for future members.

Is anyone here in graduate school? I see several papers here if not a potential dissertation.
