Thanks, I didn't realize there was that connection between Nal and sugar. That explains why I bought 2 packs of cookies yesterday...

Nz,

This is an awesome study, and I am glad you found it. Thanks for posting it.

I have been eating A LOT of grapes to help with my chocolate fix, but now that I know the reason, I think I may need to reevaluate what to do.

The funny thing about that study it was before the diet aid Contrave (I think, for I skimmed it, too late to comprehend) it would not be good for those looking to avoid high sugar intake and trying to lose weight...if it isn't one thing it is another.

Remember to keep high spirits for it really does help with your recovery, and TSM can be a rollercoaster ride so be prepared just in case.

It sounds like you are having an awesome honeymoon period and I hope it last and you have results just like Ocean!

Keep posting, for inquiring minds want to know,

Jaba

P.S. Sorry if this post is a little loopy, for my OTC sleep aid kicked in and I am having a hard time having a concentrating.

Ok, first pass through seems to indicate the opposite, that Nal decreases desire for sugary foods. Though if you stopped, I would imagine there would be a rebound of some sort.

Hi there - I have always said that AL and sugar are two sides of the same coin! My mum does not drink - but has a sugar addiction and whenever she mentioned my drinking I would suggest she stopped sugar - she eventually came to realise that they are indeed, just on different places on the same continuum! Which is why when folk stop drinking, usually sugar kicks in - my dad was always trying to stop and would polish off a bar of CDM (cadbury dairy milk) with no trouble!

Since I stopped back in December, I was fine for the first two weeks then the sugar want kicked in! I am going to have to really try and cut it down - I am not worried about weight but am feeling worse for the amount of sugar I am inhaling.

Hugs, Maggie

"that Nal decreases desire for sugary foods" you're quite right Joe, I miss read it the first time. It's interesting that academic studies seem to back up that opiods and sugar seem intertwined- I guess the 'book' states that people with sweet tooth's respond better to Nal. My extreme sweet tooth disappeared the first time I got drunk and only come back with periods of sobriety and now when I drink on Nal.

Went out on Sunday and watched the NFL play-offs. Had 4 drinks and went home- strange days.
