I am pretty clearly remembering that this site was founded by a member, a guy (I think) whose name I cannot recall but he actually quit without TSM and found it after but wanted to promote it and so founded this site. I guess he still maintains it, at one time he asked for donations.

Maybe all the more reason for folks to join the Secret Facebook Group "Inmates". Anyone who doesn't want to share their "real" identity there could, believe, set up a dummy Facebook page and call it anything, even using the username here, right? Right now we are just a little group of four, kind of lonely.

I had a Facebook page, but found myself stalking my children (not good), so I deleted it. I think I would need to give a new email address and set up a new page if I wanted to be incognito on the site (plus I would have to trust myself not to stalk my children again and I am not trusting myself just yet).

I have to admit that I got a little nervous when I saw that announcement. I have never been to any other forum so I have no knowledge of what they are like, but I do know that I feel very supported and safe here and I do not know where I would be without you guys. If one day this forum was just gone, it scares me that we wouldn't know how to get in touch with each other. :o

I am going to see about setting up another Facebook page. I am not worried about people seeing my real identity, but since I do not password protect my FB on my computer, anyone at my house could stumble across it. It is unlikely that anyone would click on one of my groups, but just in case...

My daughters basically said "Stalk us on facebook all you want, Dad. The juicy stuff is on other sites." :|

Could someone please give me the exact name of the FB page we can join? I belong to the Sinclair Method page, but not finding the one mentioned above. I think it's a great idea.

Tamara, Steve has set it up and I think he was asking us to PM him if we wanted to join. At least that is what I did and then he made it so that it just appeared in my "Groups" on the left hand side of my facebook page.

I think I may have created a username over there but never used it gravitating to this site instead. I think Eskapa is probably quite busy and has less time to make posts here and is really just offering up more places to get information. The more the merrier ;)

Google Groups has a forum feature so if worse came to worse we could set one of those up.

I'd be curious to know what information is erroneous too. I still don't have much of a problem with this. I can certainly understand wanting to consolidate information into as few places as possible as it's easier to control accurately. I've read the book and even some of the papers published and feel as though I have a good understanding of the science behind TSM but am also careful to make suggestions or recommendations about certain aspects of it and rather phrase my posting as in a 'what works for me' or 'my understanding of' kind of ways. After all this is a discussion group as is the three links to the forums is as far as I can tell. Unless they are offering actual clinical advise on those forums I don't see how it will be a whole lot different. Anonymous people will still be able to log in and say all the wrong things. Maybe Dr. Eskapa will chime in to clear up the clear up and make more sense of it but my guess is that he wants a more 'official' place where perhaps there are even trained clinicians to answer questions.

This sort of thing isn't new to Internet message boards whether it's a board about making pottery, quilting, sailing, running, technology etc... in a lot of cases you get posters who make wild claims about stuff that is just not true. Like I said I've not really seen anything so out of control here but I don't read everything either. I just don't know how creating another message board would solve the problem unless there is a professional service attached.

This is from the optionssaveslives website

the mis-information was about the film coating on the tablets and whether or not they are time release tablets....

In the past three days or so, I've been asked about it a lot. I answered 'No, they are not time release' on this forum, as well as our facebook page, and this was in addition to privately answering a couple of people by email and yet the question keeps getting asked because of a thread that is on the TSM community forum that people have read.

So we thought it might me more noticeable if we made an announcement thread to advise that there is some well-meaning, but nonetheless incorrect information out there.

Joanna.
