jim did you read this?

This is from Recovery Options Associates:

What if I get in an accident and need opiate pain relievers while taking naltrexone?
Many people carry a medical alert card with them at all times, stating that they are on naltrexone, because in case of an accident, it will take higher doses of opiate pain relievers to reduce their pain. It is possible to override the effects of naltrexone with higher dosages of opiates or to be prescribed a comparable medication that is not an opiate.

CALL YOUR DOCTOR.

Jim this could last a few more days like it did with me, get pain med that works.

Hey Cork,

Again, I've been having good luck with the pain as its not been bad. I got lucky with my surgery.

The only problem I seem to be having is some headache when I stand up and I was told this was spinal fluid leaking from my spinal from yesterday by my nurse. And I think nausea from the Oxy's but I haven't had any meds now for the past 4 hours and I don't think I will take any to see if the nausea subsides. Again, my pain is minimal but I might add 5 mg to make 15 mg to see if that over rides the NAL. Best, Jim

Final post on this topic...

I think I have this spinal leakage because of shoddy anesthesiology work. Figures that the chances are 1 in 100 and I win that lotto. SO I need to go to the hospital tomorrow to get a "blood patch" which is when they shoot blood in the same spot where they did the spinal so that the hemoglobin or whatever coagulates creates a patch where the leak is....

This really sux. Imagine a hangover that you didn't earn...I gotta go lie down again because after a few minutes the headache starts creeping in again....lay down, a few minutes goes by and I'm fine....and your neck hurts. I was a big spinal advocate 24 hours ago,...now I'm saying general anesthesia.

Take care and the good news is that my knee is just fine....this will be the last post on this topic from me anyways. I hope it helped some others..>BEst, Jim

PS I may take some oxy one more time but really don't need it unless it helps for headache which I'm sure it does
