Best to all on AF Sunday. We're leaving on vacation for wife's B-Day, so I rather doubt she will be joining you, but who knows? Hope you all enjoy your favorite endorphin producing activities.

Count me out. This is the LAST place I ever thought I'd experience peer pressure, with its accompanying judgment.

TSM IS a license to drink 10 a day if that is how someone normally drinks. Saying otherwise implies that those on this board who still are drinking heavily are somehow weak or self-indulgent. I find that highly offensive, and the very antithesis of TSM. A recurring theme in Eskapa's book is, this method doesn't judge you. E.g. p. 97: The Sinclair Method advocates a non-judgmental position with respect to addiction. . . . From a Sinclairian perspective, you would most certainly not be labeled in a negative way. . . ."

I understand that some on this board have found that using effort was useful. Others have not. Offering support to those who are in a position to make that choice is swell. I also understand that words in a post can mislead as to the true intent of the writer. But that very fact means that we need to be sensitive to what we post. Perhaps I would have read the thread as calling for solidarity in trying for an AF day in a more positive light if the insult about naltrexone not being a license to drink ten a day had been left out.

There are many on this board who would cut off their right arm if it would give them some control. How must they feel, reading this thread????? The very suggestion of a "forum-wide" AF day creates an underclass on the forum.

I'm progressing nicely, but, in solidarity with those still at the stage where an AF day is not an option, I just might let loose on March 7. To those in that group: You are not weaker than or inferior to those who are farther along in the struggle. You deserve compassionate support at least as much as those who have enjoyed more progress. This still is YOUR board, too.

I have no opinion about chat but it really was not that long ago when the poll pretty soundly rejected it. I put much thought into this post, and got some feedback before I posted it, BTW.

I can see your point Lena, and it's a good one. My opinion is that this should be an off-topic thread (moved), but not necessarily viewed as absolutely inappropriate. I must confess that I didn't read all the posts in the thread.

I can see both sides. The only thing I would say is are we not suppossed to take a nal and drink as normal when we have a craving? Those rats never planned an AF day.

Count me out though Im going out tonight and will probaly still be at it past midnight ;)

I respect lena's thoughts and I also respect the idea presented here.
SO for those who may have support in an AF day without judgment or pressure, I say "Go Ahead"
If I could awaken tomorrow to do an AF day that would really make my day.
When I first read this I thought, "I really want to do this."
I then thought "Oh no, I will not, what pressure, why am I pressuring myself...?
The reality of it being TOMORROW!
I only wish in the deepest depths of my being I could live tomorrow all day without drinking.
Right now I am really suffering from the use of AL, I can not shake off the results of my continued use and what it is doing to me pysically and mentally

SO dear TSM people, do as you may, and in what ever your choice, know that you are not blindly stumbling down a dark path, we have at least Open Eyes.

No judgment, no pressure!!

If anyone wants to join me having an AF on Sunday, great. If not, no sweat!

You're right: "forum-wide" was the wrong term to use. I'm changing the topic header.

"Forum-wide" is not the problem. Nomenclature is not the problem. The need for compassion is the issue. Respect for those here who are suffering is the issue.

These are some good points that I hadn't really thought of. Though I would like to forget my darkest days, I remain mindful that that is exactly where someone else is right now. Perhaps it would be best to let the whole thing drop and keep on doing TSM to the best of our ability.
