Last night I drank less than my 'pre-Sinclair' days, and went to bed much earlier. Also didn't feel the need to go out to the local bar for an hour or two of 'socializing,' as has been our habit. So that saved some money. I woke up this morning feeling much more focused and clear-minded - and less shaky - than what has been usual for me over the past year or so. One effect of alcohol on my life is that I've lost nearly all ambition for activities that I used to greatly enjoy. I'm just too muddle-headed and shaky during the first half of the day to give a darn. . .and then too tipsy during the latter part of the day. I force myself to do those things I must do to make a living and keep things going around my home, but take little pleasure in any of it. Even on the rare occasions when I drank less than my usual 10 units, there was so much toxicity in my system that I still felt awful, most of the time.

I find, every so often, that is already changing. I live on a farm, and in spite of the COLD weather, have had times when I've really enjoyed being outdoors and around the animals. My S.O. and I started to take nice walks in the woods, but that's put on hold until the cold and snow go away. Still - the ambition to do so is there for the first time in a very long time. I am practicing light yoga a few times a week, and jumped on the treadmill several times in the past two weeks. This morning I woke up, and had a very nice session of meditation.

While many days are still not good. . .all these things are glimmers of hope. I want to LOVE my life again! I want to wake up feeling good, and focused, and motivated.

So, aside from the amount of drinking, can some of you share the positive changes that lowered consumption is bringing about in your lives?

Thanks!

Good question.
1. I will go to bed tonight without drinking.
2. I have not had a real hangover since starting the Method.
3. I can take my kids to Apple Bees and not become a fool.
4. I am more alert at work.
5 I went with my daughter to softball practice, rather than staying home to drink.
6. I just don't find myself thinking about drinking very often.

The are no big fireworks going off. Just gradual change. More the kind you notice when you look back on it.

Average AF days 6/wk
Average Drinking < 4 drinks/wk

I now count days on Nal, rather than drinking days.
