Could those that have or are taking Campral let me know how it worked or is working? How much and how often you take it? Oh and how are the side effects?
Thank You as I need to add something else to TSM!
Nal ON!

Cheeto, there's one person on Reddit (that I know of) that's using Nal and Campral, his name is Herculoid2:

Cheeto, as I recall you were taking Baclofen at one time as well. I think there's another person on Reddit doing Nal and Baclolfen in a lower dose. How much were you taking?

Actually I have 10 mg pills but see I cut them in half so guess I was taking 5 mg but the side effects were just awful. I really could not function well on it?

I ask because it's been used in high dose (over 100 mg) to make people indifferent to alcohol. After reaching that point, the dose is slowly throttled back till a maintenance dose is found. Baclofen works via the GABA receptors. Another med that works via GABA (aside from Campral) is Topamax, so there are a few to choose from out there.

I thought that baclofen might be worth investigating again at a lower dose, as Campral is generally used after detox to maintain abstinence.

How's your blood pressure? There are also some blood pressure meds that have a reputation for cutting down drinking.

If I cannot handle 5 mg 100 mg would be horrible, lol. My blood pressure is fine so not wanting to play around with drugs for that? I thought I could order Acampral along with more Nal (this time Nodict) from River Pharmacy but they only take orders for Nal nothing else for Canada!

Wow, that's weird! I thought you'd said that you got your Nal from River, but when I looked recently they said they didn't ship to Canada. That's good to hear that they'll ship Nal though, as there are others looking to escape the $5-$10 per pill that the pharmacies up there want.

Yeah, if your blood pressure is ok no opportunity there.

WRT Campral, I don't see anything that indicates it has a beneficial effect while continuing to drink, but it may only be that nobody tested it like that (or I'm not wording my query correctly). Maybe Herculoid can shed some light...

This is where Dr. Manak might come in handy (hint, hint).

One opinion I had read about Campral is it's really only noticeably effective for the first year of abstinence as your system's wiring and plumbing readjust to baseline. Only recently heard of it being used while drinking on the subreddit. There it's being used in conjunction with tsm.

Joe I contacted Dr Manak and this is the reply "The initial consultation would cost $180, and each consecutive appointment would cost $85." So no I won't be using her services!
