Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to share a quick note about your and my genetics. I sequenced my mu-opioid receptor, and here are the results:

The highlighted "A" right in the middle there is the famous A118 that in some people is a G on one or both of their chromosomes. I have the genotype "AA" which according to some studies, predicts a poor response to naltrexone. I feel that I have experienced an AMAZING response to naltrexone, which is documented in my signature, and in more detail in the weekly progress forum.
Now, a word on this. I am both the subject and the examiner in this case and so this is not a rigorous scientific study, but as an anecdote I can tell you that so far Nal has been a miracle to me despite my genotype. Very very few scientific studies are 100% black and white, and so my results do not invalidate anything published about the A118G mutation. What I do hope to impress however, is that Nal absolutely CAN work for you even if you are an AA like me. I'd rather be AA than in AA. Haha
