Bumping this thread up!
Mario, did you have any success in Italy? I am from Canada, so am having difficulty getting Nal, but I will be in Italy in June so I would interested to hear if you got it there. Thanks!

I actually didnt even try in Italy. Hubby was very ill while we were there and it went out of my head. France can be a little tricky depending on the pharmacy but Ive got it in Teneriffe which is part of Spain twice with no problems.

I 've bought prescription meds from a back street chemist in Thailand before...

But surely, it's easier to buy online - or am I missing the point?

Andy.

I'm from Canada. I couldn't find a doctor (though I didn't try really really hard), that would give me a prescription. The 3 I talked to were all 'go to AA', and refused to prescribe anything. I knew that wasn't going to work for me. I went online.

Canada customs is extra-vigilant, so you can't use most online providers. The only one I could find that would deliver is:
http://official-drugstore.net

They charge through the nose for it: about $12/50mg pill. It's Nodict that they deliver (generic version of Revia, but just as good). They will redeliver or offer to refund if customs turns it away. Canadian Customs turned the first delivery away, so it took 2 months to get the first shipment. It's a complete rip-off, but if you can't get a doctor to give you a script (I was impatient, but wouldn't have been if I knew it would take two months), it's your only hope.

Corpus, one idea you might try if you ever make trips to the US is to have nal shipped to a hotel and then arrange to pick it up on your trip. Just let the hotel know ahead of time and have your reservation booked early enough. I believe we've had other Canadians (and some Europeans) on the board employ this method. The $10 savings per pill multiplied by 240 pills (the max amount Debbie at River pharmacy says draws little customs attention) would save you $2400 which would more than cover the trip across the border. If you wanted to maximize your results per trip make two orders a couple of days apart or from different pharmacies and ship to the same or different hotels. Sorry you have to turn into James Bond to regain control. When countries that have a national health service figure out how much they can save by adding nal to the formulary of covered drugs in terms of reduction in alcohol related lost work and health care costs they may get on board with it.
