No problem. It's good to test ideas.

I can speak from my own experience. I suffered from anxiety for many years which I medicated it with alcohol and other things. This was how I became dependent. I was able to overcome the anxiety through psychotherapy where I came to terms with various issues. Unfortunately, once the anxiety was no longer an issue I had an issue with alcohol.

I'm not saying this is true for everyone but it was very true for me. I posted this video because I thought it might be helpful for someone else who is on a similar track. I certainly did not mean to upset anyone or get into an argument.

Deuce talk therapy is good for a lot of things but having an alcohol dependency issue is due to biochemistry. I don't think it matters at all how much insight you garner from therapy (and I've had at least a few years of it here and there) it will not stop you from drinking. In fact, the endorphin rush from alcohol probably enhances the post-therapeutic session experience. I know it did for me.

Ok. I am going to try to explain this as clearly as I can.

Alcoholism is biological and talk therapy cannot cure it.

However, some people (including myself) start drinking because it does a particularly good job of relieving social anxiety. Some people (myself included) also have a biological propensity to become addicted once they start.

Accordingly, if that person cures themselves of alcoholism with TSM but does nothing to treat the psychological reason they drank to address in the first place they will most likely develop another addiction to replace the job that alcohol did.

I suffer social anxiety as well. I've tried other drugs (illegal) to combat it but I never really liked them. If I had liked them I'd probably have become addicted to them by now as I'd prefer anything to drinking black outs.

Ocean- I hope you don't mind, I'm going to repost your general question with a different subject title as I feel that the subject title may have made people misinterpret the question.
