Aren't there anti-nausea medicines your Dr. could prescribe? Might be worth a try.

FYI. I don't want to discourage anyone here, but I was getting my Nal from River pharmacy. This last week I got an actual prescription, and had it filled locally. For whatever reason, the side effects of the scripted med was non-existent, while the overseas meds commonly made me feel shaky, loopy, and sweaty. I also sometimes experienced great fatique. Usually these things passed quickly, but still - it's nice not to have to deal with those things.

I suspect I was always getting 'the real thing,' but there might be a difference in the way the Nal is produced, from company to company. . .

I must admit I have a dog in this fight because I order from River and got a several-month supply just before I got sick. I have wondered about this issue and I'll bet many of us have.

After the first few days I have had no side effects. N101CS orders from River and has never had any side effects. Many if not most of us order online and while many of discuss side effects, my impression is that by far most of us do not have side effects beyond the first few days.

Scrips filled in the U.S. were likely manufactured overseas -- probably India.

Shall we do a little survey? I'll start a thread.

I hope hope hope I am not stuck with a pile of inferior quality nal because I can't get a scrip and anyway it's too late to return it.

Oh Lena, I wasn't suggesting the Nal wasn't the real deal - not at all. If nothing else, the side effects demonstrate I wasn't taking sugar pills.

I'm just wondering if the different companies that produce the product might use different fillers, or chemical processes, to which I am more or less sensitive. If so, then there's a chance that if a person orders from one company and experiences a lot of negative side effects, they might try switching to another source to see what happens.

My worry is not that it's not the real deal; it's the fillers that could be problems. We've all heard the stories(lore?) I was really hesitant about ordering online but MWO and its members seemed to have vetted River pretty thoroughly. Still I had trouble shaking the paranoia about getting an rx drug w/o an rx from strangers. Early returns from the survey thread seem to vindicate River.

For whatever its worth, my prescription was filled locally here in California and I have had the side effects of nausea, headache, as well. I am better though now that I am in my third week. It seems like there would only be so many sources out there that the different pharmacies get the drug from. Hopefully we are getting the same quality in our prescriptions no matter where we go.

The price of Naltrexone (Nodict) in India is $1 per pill - if you walked into a pharmacy that's what you'd pay. That makes it too cheap for a fake to be worth producing.

I agree with the those who have suggested that fillers might be responsible for some side effects.
