Excellent advice. Exercise reduces normal stress-induced anxiety in a least two ways, through molecular biochemical changes in the brain, and also by distraction.

Unfortunately, it has little affect on chronic anxiety. It takes a psychiatrist to tell the difference, though.

Exercise is never bad.

I hate it myself and can only do it when it is incidental to some other activity. I can strap a backpack on and hike the Appalachian trail for three days but the idea of jogging around the block just to exercise doesn't work for me. I think I see that as punishment or something.

I exercise 4 - 5 times a week, between jobs, it really jazzes me up for the second half of my day. But all the steam runs out by the time I get home, and then I'm just anxious all over again....so I drink.... :(
