What do you think about NASA bombing the Moon tomorrow with a 2 ton bomb? Looking for water?

I didn't know about it! Sounds cool!

A 2 ton bomb is tiny. In that low gravity environment it should displace a lot of mass though. What are they doing, trying to analyze what comes off the surface with some sort of spectroscopy? Imma go look it up...

According to this article they're not actually bombing the moon they're ramming it with a couple of spaceships. This person thinks that if it gets hit by these "moonbombs" it might knock it out of it's current rotation.... ..... You ever look at the moon dude? How do you think it's face got there?? It gets hit by meteorites ALL DAY LONG.

And then goes on to say: "We have guesses, but what if the moon isn't solid and turns out to be hollow inside?" Again... .....

We've calculated the mass of the moon by using the inverse square law (gravity) and comparing it to the centrifugal force exerted by it's orbit. If it were hollow, someone would have said: "damn that's awful big for something that weighs so little...?"

I would literally fed-ex this guy a cookie if he could propose even a semi-plausible explanation for the formation of a celestial body that is hollow.

I guess we just gotta know eh? why can't we just look at it? I mean we got the internet and Tang out of the last 40 years of space travel (there's more I know, but really????)

When I look at the moon I feel great! that's all I gotta know...
