Interesting poll! My daily drink is wine, mostly chard, but I also like red wine, particularly pinot noir. I like "real" beer (no light, watery stuff --Saporo, Heineken, etc) but rarely drink it. Too filling. I also have the occasional martini (but only 1) when going out for a nice dinner or margarita if I'm doing Mexican. I like Bloody Marys but they seem like a Sunday morning kinda drink and I rarely drink during the day.

Don't think I'd drink motor oil, Nick! But then again, who knows?

Add me to the list of Chardonnay lovers. I had a bad experience when I was 19 with Southern Comfort and the thought of it to this day makes me feel sick. I have gotten sick from too much wine but for some reason it didn't have the effect that the Southern Comfort did. Not sure why. Bob, when you say you went through aversion therapy last year, were you trying to find drinks that you didn't like and make yourself only drink that type of alcohol?

Red wine, red wine, and then to switch it up, red wine. OK, an occasional beer on hot weekends - prefer stouts and ales but started mixing in low-cal low-carb beers when I was trying to lose weight. But pretty much: red wine.

Tonight though is our anniversary. So this:

I'm hoping this will be the first time in a long time I'm not jealously monitoring the bottle to make sure I get My Fair Share!

The purpose of aversion therapy is to mainly drink your DOC, then follow that by another alcoholic drink of a different type that you enjoy. American beer was my DOC. Then I chose the beverages that I liked the most first starting with Bourbon and worked my way to wine, which I really didn't care for. I skipped a couple beverages such as tequila and rum. I liked tequila less than I liked wine and still haven't had any desire to taste it. I used to drink rum decades ago, but I have no idea why I didn't try it post aversion therapy. Probably the strong alcohol smell. The Guinness stout found a niche that didn't invoke a nausea response, so I stuck with that until I was back as a daily over-drinker again by February 2009.
