Are you talking about the Passages from Malibu, The Cure for Alcoholism commercials? Those are total crap, it's like a $90k rehab center.

Schulte -- You're not alone in this. SpringerRider, one of our first members, saw the tv ad and thought he was ordering the book by the Passages guy but ordered Eskapa's book by mistake! He was one of the first to call himself cured. So here we all are! 8-)

You know what I like about TSM versus abstinence based programs?

There is no such thing as a relapse.

For a 12-stepper, the first drink is virtually Satan himself standing at the door tempting you back to drunkenness. For a TSMer, the next drink is very simply the next treatment in extinguishing the addiction. And once the addiction is gone, that first drink after a period of abstinence is just a beverage that we cannot get addicted to again as long as we take our Naltrexone. There is no fear of the future.

Bob

You know Bob,

I was 4.5 years sober with AA. Now the psychological implications of having that first drink were so overwhelming because I was an alcoholic and had to have the disease so when I "relapsed" that was it. I was done.. Drunk. etc etc etc I drank out of brainwashed necessity. As well, I also drank semi normal for a period of about 3-6 months. Oddly, the time frame they say without Nal and drinking, you will get back to your old self.

If I had Nal, I can almost guarantee, I would not have relapsed into my old habit 6 months later. But combination AA brainwash and no Nal, I did,...So I think some of those folk in AA have Naturally cured themselves but if they relapse and Have no NAl will sink into their past oblivion and go back to the AA way,l.which is cool if you're into that...I love the idea of not being afraid of booze..thats so empowering

Best friends,...Jim
