I think it would be great. It was mentioned before and some thought it might not work but a lot of us have been together for a while now and I think we can handle it! Good idea!!!! I say yes

The google spreadsheet has live chat functionality in it. And access to it is restricted to us.

I'm with Lo0p. I've suggested in the past to those who want to chat that we get a gmail address and use GoogleTalk, which is IMO the best chat utility. That way, people can stay anonymous if they like or they can share personal info to their heart's content. I set up a separate gmail account in case I decide to participate in Lo0p's graphing project. I think this is the solution for those members who wish to chat.

That sounds like a good idea! It also means people can just be kicked out if they are clearly there simply to troll or upset people, doesn't it?

I had another idea which I suggested to another member in a PM once, something a bit more limited actually on the forum here - a thread called The Saloon or The Bar or something, just for aimless chit-chat if people were here and fancied whiling away some time. Nothing too serious to be posted there, that could be taken elsewhere.
