Can anyone recommend a treatment center that supports the Sinclair Method?

I have a friend in their early 20s who has a serious problem with drinking. I recently got them to start using the Sinclair method but because of how serious their disease is, doing it in the "real world" isn't workable. This persons alcohol addiction is so strong that there is no such thing as one drink. One drink turns into an episode that goes on as long as their body can manage the intake in alcohol. They have been kicked out of their parents house, lost one job and get suicidal from the drinking binges.

In this case drinking + naltrexone might equal death not cure.

The only way I can see this working is if they are in a rehab center where they get one drink a day + naltrexone until their addiction decreases. Is there any such place in the United States (or anywhere else for that matter.)

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am trying to save somebody's life...

Hi Wingnut. If I were you, I'd e-mail Dr. David Sinclair yourself and ask if he knows of any Sinclair Method treatment centers. Though, he is modest and refers to his own treatment as only "pharmacological extinction."

Also, for more immediate results and regaining control, your addicted friend might look into an expensive, but apparently effective, monthly shot called Vivitrol. The shot nips cravings for alcohol right in the bud whereas TSM is like taking the slow boat to China.

But while Naltrexone takes awhile for the majority of us, please note that there have been 20-somethings on this board who have reached great success in 3 to 5 months.
