Hi I am "Orbitizer" (not my real name).
I have been reading "The Cure for Alcoholism" by Dr Roy Eskapa.
I cant wait to get started with the Naltrexone 50 mg treatment.
But.....I went to my primary care provider here in my small Kansas town and neither the RN or the Doctor have ever heard of Naltrexone or the Sinclair method. When the RN looked it up in her "Physicians Desk Reference" (PDR) she read the side effects and it said that some of them were sever, she said it wasnt for me. She wants me to take the Naltrexone once per month shot.
I respectfully told her that the Sinclair Method does not work that way. She stood her ground and will not give me a prescription for ReVia.
I have been to AA.....met new drinking buddies!!!!!
Went to psychotherapy.....where the Doc asked me about my relationship with my parents. But every time I drink it is my hand on the bottle not my fathers. You guessed it the Doc is my new drinking buddy!
I tried hypnotherapy.....IT WORKED.....for 2 months. Hypnotherapy like a Jedi mind trick works for a while but then wears off.
I am 56 yo run 1 mile each morning, I work out, I work 4 jobs. I am a very high functioning alcoholic.
You would think that the Doctor would give me a break and proscribe the ReVia.
But noooooo..... in this little bible belt town AA is the preffered route. Yeah, go there to meet new drinking buddies.
So, I tried the Canada pharmacy route.....been waiting weeks for my ReVia have called their help line. I keep getting a phone room somewhere in India, I am starting to think this route is a rip off. Indeed, if you Google "Canadian pharmacy scam", you will get all kind of hits saying that at best they are identity theft rings and at worst outright ripoffs.
Sooooo.......does anybody have any experience with honest Canadian pharmacies that wont rip me off.

Thank you Dr Sinclair
Thank you Dr Eskapa

I can't get a prescription in NJ from any doctor either. Just today I ordered it online from River Pharmacy. Naltrexone (Naltima) 50mg tablets 120 count for 238.14USD and Free Shipping (wahoooo). Used one time Mastercard to prevent future fraud. They are out of Canada. You have to call to give them the CC - their website won't take CC information online. Spoke to Karen. She seemed very nice and answered all my questions. She says 3 weeks for delivery. No Prescription needed. They place order with Indian pharma and it ships from India to USA. She says it will pass customs no problem (they have been doing this for years). I'll post to this thread when I receive the order.

I know alldaychemist.com will ship to Kansas, as it's right in my neighborhood and I've had two successful orders with Naltima. Good stuff.

I've ordered from alldaychemist. It takes a while and the shipping cost is high, but they are legitimate company as far as I know.

Alldaychemist is mine also. I just placed an order today.

No bulk discount.

$1.76 per pill.

If your order is $100 plus and you use the e-check option, you get a $10 discount of off the $25 shipping fee. So I ordered 60 for $105.84 plus $15 shipping. Total of $120.84.

It takes every bit of 2 weeks, sometimes 3 weeks. After ordering today, I expect to get a call from a US phone number, the e-check people, confirming the purchase. After that, the 2-3 week wait kicks in.

I did notice they had more payment options since my last 2 orders, but I stuck with the e-check option since it works and gave the discount.

Wow, I guess I am really, really lucky. When I was considering rehab, my insurance company said the nearest approved facility was a day's drive away. I kept researching, and found this little counseling clinic in the middle of nowhere F_____g northern Idaho (but close enough to me) that caters mostly to at-risk youth vis a vis government-funded programs. So I stumble in about 15 months ago, one of their rare "private pay" patients, and do a medically supervised outpatient detox, and then remained under the care of this same Dr. over the next year for ongoing depression/ anxiety issues. It was this same Dr., who, when I relapsed yet again a month ago, asked if I wanted to try a radical but promising treatment, since perhaps 8+ years of trying abstinance dozens of times hadn't worked. and told me to read The Cure... by Dr. Eskapa and wrote a Rx for Naltrexone, which cost me $10US for a 30-day supply at my local pharmacy through my insurance.

I'm so sorry for everyone who has to go to such Herculean lengths just to try this approach. It shouldn't be this difficult for someone to find a medical practicioner to prescribe what may be the last lifeline for many of us.

I went with All Day Chemist and was pleased with the service. I was and remained frightened to approach my doctor and ask about a prescription because for insurance reasons I don't want alcoholism on my medical record. I don't know whether or not that makes any sense or if it's worth worrying about, but it's what I had in mind.
