Hi, everyone. Well, I'm back in AA with 76 days, but would rather just kill the beast than work around it. However, my last binge was so severe as to be life-threatening. My concern about TSM for someone like me is, do I run a risk of doing myself in drinking before the drug can take effect? Congrats to those who've had success!

I feel your pain and understand where you are coming from. Congrats on the 76 days. Keep it up. I have had some binges that I would consider life threatening in years past. (Of course I have been guilty of drinking and driving, and you don't even need a binge for that to be life threatening.) I will say my binges and blackout drunkenness have decreased exponentially during my 9 weeks on TSM.

If you are in day 76, I say keep it going, and good job. Keep us updated Boo.

Mainstream alcoholism researchers in the US recommend Nal for relapse prevention (also to stop cravings). If you take it when you feel a relapse coming and then drink, the relapse won't be so out of control and dangerous.

Thanks you both. I'm still eye-balling it, trying to set up some measures to make sure somebody's got my back.

The majority of my binges were or could have been life threatening. The beauty of TSM is that when/if you relapse then the presence of Nal in your system means the work can start from that first drink - whereas with traditional methods you have to wait until the binge is finished, and you are sober again.

Now fully in control, alcohol no longer bothers me. Chose to go AF from 22nd July 2013.
