And thanks for this forum. I'm going to give a brief history of my addictions and attempted treatments. It seems that we learn more from each other than anyone else. I have been a binge and more recently daily alcohol addict since 16 y/o, I am now 34y/o. I was a binge cocaine addict as well, until about 1 year ago. Ironically it was topamax which I originally took for alcohol dependence with no success completely removed that addiction. For alcohol I have tried AA, topamax, and campral, in that order. Nothing has worked for the booze. I have now learned of this Sinclair Method and willing to give it a try. I've been on naltrexone for a week, but didn't know until I read some posts here the idea is to take the nal one hour before drinking. I think I really understand the concept now. Pretty interesting, this pharmacological extinction stuff. Anyways, just thought I'd put in my two cents and share what I have learned.

Suggest you pick up Dr. Eskapa's book and give it a read. In the mean time, there are a few excerpts from the book here:

You should read Julia's Story. This really puts The Sinclair Method into real world terms.
