Hi everyone.

I am new to this - have never joined a forum before - but I can see that it can provide a lot of support and a lot of answers. I have not tried TSM yet, but after researching it on the web am extremely keen to get started. I have a few queries, and if anyone could help, I would be extremely grateful.

I live near Durban, which is in Natal, South Africa. Firstly, Naltrexone used to be available here, but now is only accessible if you go the "Section 21" route - special permission to import medicines. I believe that I may be able to get a script (and therefore permission to import) from the District Surgeon. (I originally thought that I could just order over the internet, and get the meds, but apparently you then run the risk of having your parcel confiscated by customs, and also being considered a drug dealer. Not good).

Secondly, there is a branch of ARCA (an American rehab organisation) in Durban, and they do use Naltrexone, but I have been told that they charge R15,000 (+/- $150) for about a month's worth of tablets. This may not be considered a lot by some people, but I find it quite expensive, so I want to follow TSM on my own, as I am sure that it will be cheaper. I have looked at several websites for my supplies, and one which seems promising is http://www.pharmacyescrow.com. I have also heard of the River pharmacy, and believe that one can get cheap tablets from India. Does anyone have any advice, warnings, or just plain information about suppliers?

Once again, any help will be greatly appreciated. Best wishes to you all.

Dr. Eskapa (author of the book on TSM) is from South Africa and I think he may not be far from you. He is not a medical doctor but would be very knowledgeable about the availability of naltrexone in SA. You can hit the "Members" button (top right, under the banner), find his name (near the beginning of the list), and email him through the link on his profile page.

Many of us here use River, but I think naltrexone might not be much cheaper through them. Many of us here have found alldaychemist to be reliable, and far less costly than River.

Best wishes for success. Please keep us posted.
