Hi to all

I'm about a month in with Nal have been taking daily as directed by healthworker if drinking or not + occasionally missing a day + drinking which I gather is a big no-no? I'm very interested what I've learnt about TSM and have just started to take 1 hr before I expect to drink...so here goes will keep posting progress.

Anyone else from UK?

K

Hi keir, nice to meet you :)

Please try to never drink without taking Nal first, an hour in advance wherever possible, and if you end up doing so, take it asap anyway!

Otherwise you will be undoing any good that it may have been doing you so far (and it's a long enough road anyway!)

There are other members here from the UK, but not so many. It might help a lot of folk out if you're prepared to point them in the direction of the health service you use which will prescribe Nal for drinking (including me!) - even privately by PM. Nal seems extremely hard to get prescribed in the UK, even more so than the US.

I won't be actively posting on these boards for a while, so have sent you a PM inviting to ask anything further about my own 4 months on Nal + Drinking via email.

If I don't hear from you, good luck!! :D

Hi Keir. Not from the UK but from Canada, only been on Nal for ten days, taking it one hour before I drink also. Working pretty well for me so far, have gone from 1 bottle a night to one glass a night, (my idea of one glass is actually two units but.....). Keep us posted on your progress!

Welcome. There is only one rule and it's very simple: take naltrexone an hour before you drink. That's it.

Welcome I too am from UK. I have not seen a doctor yet but propose to do so. I do not know what to expect. I have received my Nal from River and am on my third day with great hopes for it! I have been taking bac for two weeks and go up to 50mg daily but thinking of not taking this anymore as I would like to keep up with the Nal. As far as I can see it should not make any difference taking Bac with the Nal as the Nal has an 80% chance and if I am in the 80% bracket, fingers crossed, the Bac should not make any difference..am i right???
