Great article from wolfie, it really makes a lot of sense and I have ordered the book. I do believe the mind has so much to do with it. I just need to get my mind around it. Thanks sixpack.

Meggie, it looks like the message board has changed back to logging people off quickly. I suggest you compose your post in Notepad, then sign on to the board. Right after you sign on, copy your post from Notepad and paste it in to the "Post a reply" window and hit the "Submit" button. That should help you work around the problem.

Wow, Maggie you are doing great. You will be on to a year. I quit for a year then I thought one wouldn't hurt. Well that was 2007 and here I am again. Not really doing any better, not drinking much but still drinking every day. Maggie, have you heard from any of the old gang.

Meggie, you may want to check out the book that Wolfie mentioned too. Smootie read it and really liked it. August 30th post:

Great book. I'm halfway through it. Highly recommended.

Meggie I have not been on MWO for quite a while to be honest..... have you heard from anyone? Sorry that you are still struggling though - that is a bummer..... hang in there and hopefully one day it will all click.

Hugs, Maggie x

Love to read how everyone is doing. Lots going on, last year of work, going to turn 60 next year. Also, I have my only child getting married. Exciting times, I do know that I will be sober at her wedding, I don't drink out of the house. I gather that is a good thing, she can trust me.
However, we have to provide transportation, 4 miles away to hotels for drinkers. You would think I would be more understanding.

Meggie, perhaps try one evening of the week cutting yourself off part way through the evening and noticing how you feel if you don't carry through with your usual routine. That's important, notice how you feel, even write it down. Maybe enlist your husband or a friend, or even one of us.

What say you?
