The absolute beauty of TSM is that it doesn't really require "willpower" -- it just takes patience and the willingness to pop a nal one hour before you drink. Naltrexone + drinking = cure! IT WORKS!

Thanks for the continued support. I would love to get off my klonopin, but after the nightmare I went through, I don't think I have the guts to do it. I was completely dysfunctional until I found a psych. Who put me on the klonopin. I lost 6 mos. of my life to panic attacks and developing a real sleep phobia. Mydaughter, who was 2 saw me like that, and I only hope she doesn't remember. I'm committed to staying with TSM. With a little luck and a little willpower I think I may make it.
Regarding benzos - they seem to impede progress but it is hard for me to tell since I have been slowly reducing my dosage and replacing Valium with a non-benzo (Buspar). The Buspar is not as good as the Valium, but it does act as an anxiolytic and definitely has sedative effects. I would much rather be taking Baclofen for anxiety, since it is also a non-Benzo, it is also non-addictive, and it can be used at higher dosages to stop alcohol cravings, but only if you take it the rest of your life. For now, I'll stick with the Buspar replacement of the Valium and continue with my titration schedule off of Valium.

Regarding a fear of coming off the Klonopin - My psychiatrist gave me some very practical advice; if I am titrating off the Valium too fast, I will know it right away and the quick-fix is to take the a Valium dose equal to the amount that I was last stable on. And that advice works! I was reducing my dosage too fast, got severe parathesia on Sunday, took 2.5mg of Valium and within 45 minutes I was normal again.

I hope this helps!

Thanks for the info. I will continue with TSM. I have taken my pill 1 hour EVERYDAY before I drink. I haven't noticed much, but I'll keep on trying.
By the way, the people who have responded to me have been absolutely wonderful. Thank you.
