I have taken the medication a hour or more before every day since August. I am afraid to not do it. In my mind, if this is a mind control thing I need to take the medication. I even took it my one AF day. I will keep plodding I just keep hoping that it will be magic. As I read through the post people seem to be doing so well. I even met new people, which is nice. Most of us are new(6 or less months)

Meggie, my heart goes out to you for as I do know how frustrating it is that you think it will never work for you - but look at me - a whole year! But it did work in the end - please just stay with it and keep taking the Nal - try cutting it in half and taking it and waiting 90 mins - that might help a little. Just please do not give up. We are all in this together and will get there in the end!

HUGS, Maggie x

Haven't posted because I feel it is doing nothing. I am drinking at my usual limits. I am afraid the doctor is going to stop providing due to my lack of response. As I read, I see others haven't gone back to there large limits.
I just finished the series Nurse Jackie, wow, the life of an addict. She hid drugs in the strangest places. I don't know if the series ended and she died. I will have to check it out.
I am just sputtering and wonder what my direction is. I do need to call the doctor and have my 6 month blood work done.
Yes all, I am taking it daily and waiting the hour, even tried crushing it.

Thanks for giving us an update, meggie!

I'd suggest you contact Joanna at joanna@cthreeeurope.com . She's likely to answer from a different email account, so be on the lookout for it and check your junk mail. It could be very helpful to set up a Skype session with her, Mokum tried it and really recommends it. Joanna's quite experienced and by all accounts can help you get the upper hand. If you like, feel free to open an account at OptionsSaveLives.freeforums.net , some good folks over there too.

In general, have you tried a mindful approach? (Sorry, I didn't read all 18 pages.)

How fast is the first drink going down? Have you tried eating before hand? Does food have any effect on the quantity you consume?

Just to refresh the info, let us know what your drinking style is.

What are your current consumption numbers like, and what levels do you hit if you binge (if at all)?

BTW, please do visit as often as you can manage, it really can help give you an edge.

I'm going to shoot you a Private Message with a couple of questions, I might be able to help connect you with some additional resources.

Meggie - I cannot add anything to Joe's post - just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you - he had some really good ideas though!

Hugs, Maggie x

Johanna got right back to me and she had some great advice. I think my biggest problem is I am not mindful drinking. I just drink and I am looking for that taste of vodka. I did better last night.

That's great, meggie! Maybe the Nal will help you flex your muscles and consciously set limits. Is there anything you do that "goes with" the drinking? Something that you do or eat (or whatever) that tends to make the vodka "disappear" faster than other times?
