Again thanks for the support. I'm now sitting here after a bottle of red and wanting to be back to normal. I'm wondering WHEN the nal really works. Thanks again for the support. I'm not a Chick though. I'm a 38 year old mom who just needs to get back to normal. Thanks for the support.

Normal? What's normal? (If you ever figure that one out, let me know. . .) ;)

Hmmmm. Normal. I don't really know!! Pre-wine was a great thing. Maybe that's MY normal. I guess it's just different for everyone.

"Normal": making decisions, feeling emotions, having thoughts and living my life as if I didn't know that alcohol existed. That's my definition and I can't wait to get back there.

Hi ABNYC, and welcome from me as well!

I remember the relief and hope I felt when I found this site. The love and support here is so incredible, and the fact that TSM really does work - it seems too good to be true. But, this is the real deal. Happy you joined us, and I hope you have great success with TSM. :D

Thanks for the continuing welcomes!!! I just read, though, that TSM doesn't work if you are on a benzo. I have been on Klonopin (1.25 1x per day) for four years. I had a crazy sleep phobia and I'm petrified to ever stop the klonopin. Some posts have said that TSM might work, but more slowly. I hope to God that's true. I intend to keep trying.

Not true, it still works. Please consult BENZO BOB, the house expert. And read all of his posts. Bob3d that is.

Welcome ABNYC, I wish you great success on TSM. I am a binge drinker who has found real benefits with the method but it isn't totally passive and one needs to be dedicated. The issue of how long it takes is something that I wish people would not be too attached to but I totally understand why. We are all built with unique chemistry and we will all react differently. Everyone wants to know when they will get better but they should relax about it because according to the book you have to take the pill for the rest of your life anyway one hour before you drink. I guess, either that, or never drink again. The benefits are huge . I am eternally grateful to be basically fully functioning and not to have alcohol as the driver in my life. Because of this method, I am now the driver. It's all good though and the people here are fabulous so if I was to think of a good place for you to be this is it. Welcome aboard and all the best. :D

I am also in the benzo bunch and am dragging my feet on a taper of it due to a personal situation. I think our process will be a bit slower. It was said that we will not feel the same feelings because of these drugs. I will continue tsm regardless. There is a website on getting off that stuff and I am sure others will pipe in soon. I do plan on a titration off the benzo's as soon as I gather the things I need to do so. If interested go to benzodetoxrecovery and read some of the posts there. People are willing to help! Good luck.

Thanks for the continued support. I would love to get off my klonopin, but after the nightmare I went through, I don't think I have the guts to do it. I was completely dysfunctional until I found a psych. Who put me on the klonopin. I lost 6 mos. of my life to panic attacks and developing a real sleep phobia. Mydaughter, who was 2 saw me like that, and I only hope she doesn't remember. I'm committed to staying with TSM. With a little luck and a little willpower I think I may make it.
