He's an excellent doctor, Ocean, and has treated all my ailments over the years appropriately and efficiently and I am thankful the he gave me a Naltrexone prescription so I could persue TSM on my own. All of you guys are probably right though that I should mention my success to him because it (TSM) is a significient breakthrough in addiction treatment. But it is not as simple as taking a cycle of antibiotics to treat an infection. TSM involves the patient educating himself and following the Naltrexone + waiting + drinking protocol carefully and consistently, and not everyone is going to do that. In broad use I would imagine that TSM would not be as successful to the general drinking population as it is to the motivated alcoholics now using it. But I could be wrong.
I think you are exactly right. You have to want to quit or reduce drinking in order for TSM to work. It WILL work if followed properly and if not can even make things worse.
