I wasn’t sure where to post this at it covers introduction, progress and some history. So here goes. Today will be my 4 month mark on TSM. When I started TSM my attitude was that I would take the Nal and try not to over-think it since I would continue drinking anyway. I kept track of my drinking units for about a month and a half then stopped; since my drinking levels remained the same (usually a bottle of wine in the evening – every evening and usually 1 ½ - 2 on Friday and Saturday) with of course Nal. There wasn’t much of the “honeymoon” for me other that the slight nausea that I think caused some lower craving. I have occasionally experienced the strong taste of wine but am not entirely sure if this is due to Nal or varied brands of wine. However, after saying that; last night seems to be a breakthrough – the first 2 glasses went down fast (too fast) but the next 2 I could barely get down and didn’t finish the bottle (this in it self is amazing for me). There was also the “strong” taste. Due to some temporary financial limitations and the period of time that I drink, I have reduced dosage to 25 mg. the past week. I too was hoping for the more results at this point but considering the length and amounts; it appears I will need to have more patience (not one of my virtues

)
Some history – Started weekend binge drinking as a teenager and not real sure when the every evening drinking started (probably early 20’s) and has been that way for 25+ years. Found TSM through MWO website. Had tried Topamax but couldn’t handle the side effects. At first it seemed to help but then I just drank over it. I did get the Topa from my Dr. but she made it clear that if it didn’t work that I needed to go to an addiction specialist; which I took that to mean a 12-step program. I was no way interested in that type of program – it was hard enough as it was to tell her my problem. So I have been ordering Nal from River. I have briefly mentioned to my husband of this book other than that – he does not know (nor anyone else for that matter) that I am following the program.
Just wanted to say although I haven’t posted until now – this forum has been an invaluable resource in conjunction with the book and am thankful for everyone's posts.
