Hi!
I'm new here. Started TSM/Nal on May 8th. I am a 41 year old female who isn't a full blown alcoholic, but who is afraid of becoming one. I don't drink everyday. It's more like a weekend thing plus a day or two during the week. Never in the mornings and never before 3 or 4pm/ I never have need for an "eye-opener" as Dr. Eskapa calls it. Still, I drink lots for my body weight. I use AL as both a reward for a long day/job well done/problem resolved at work, as a coping mechanism to any stressors that come my way, and as a social lubricant.

I used to consume a bottle of wine after a cocktail on Friday nights, repeat on Saturday nights. I'd have almost as much on Monday and/or Wednesdays. Other days are AF.

I never have a hangover or nausea from drinking. I do, on occasion, have a blackout in memory for an hour or two during my binges.

Both of my grandfathers were alcoholics, so I've definitely got a family history. Also, I am a very, very bad drunk and can be extremely nasty to my dear husband.

I first started on baclofen in January, which did reduce my AL consumption, but made me feel foggy. Decided to try going the Nal/TSM route, as it seemed to fit my "habits" a bit better. Here I am 12 days into it and the Nal does seem to be having some effect.

I wasn't very good at documenting my AL consumption at the beginning, but here are the notes I have:

WED 5/8 25mg AL (too many to count)
FRI 5/10 25mg AL (too many to count)
SAT 5/11 50mg AL .75 unit lite beer, 5 units wine
WED 5/15 50mg AL 8 units wine
FRI 5/17 50mg AL lost count
SAT 5/18 50mg AL 7 units wine
MON 5/20 50mg AL nearly 6 units (more interested in posting here than in finishing my 3rd glass of wine)

All other days are AF no Nal.

My hubby is also here and on Nal. We're helping each other out.

Thanks!
DaBigEasy
