I have been drinking 5-7 drinks a day for almost 2 years now. Last month I tried quiting, went through out patient detox and my Dr prescribed be Nal as antic raving drug. He has asked for total absentience. While it worked for few days, I have alraedy slipped few times. While doing some research on Nal I came across TSM and this group.

From last 4 days, I have been taking it hour before drinking and can see some impact. Yesterday I was not craving for drink but still for the sake of TSM went through drinking after taking Nal. I could not drink more than 2 and my wife was happy to see me home early.

I have not read the book yet. Have ordered it online but it will take some time to come. However, I have read SO MUCH about TSM on this forum and at other places, I would say I have SOME idea about it.

My question is, on the days when I have no craving (initial days like yesterday) should I still drink?

My Dr does not know that I am trying TSM and I am sure he will not be happy person. But as far as I am concerned I am feeling better

No, I wouldn't drink just for the sake of TSM. Just drink as you usually would, taking Nal one hour beforehand, that's our mantra!!

Welcome NTT! Read as many threads as you can until you get the book and once you do read it it will answer a whole lot of questions you might have. There's a wealth of information here so just fire away and someone will get the answer for you. Always remember NAL one hour before drinking.

Hello and welcome. As is accurately stated above, drink as you normally drink, but take the naltrexone an hour before you do.

Thanks everyone for your quick reply. I will keep you guys posted on my progress. Looks like my 'honeymopn period' with Nal was shortlived and ended yesterday

Not worried at this point as I was not as insane as I would be otherwise
