Good morning all -- I'm so relieved that our group has a place to support one another as we follow the Sinclair Method. I too learned about the method on My Way Out. I ordered Eskapa's book and Naltrexone for River Pharmacy. I looked to the MWO posts for support but noticed that most posters were just sort of guessing at how to use Naltrexone, or using it as an anti-craving med. I started a thread called "Strictly Sinclair" for those of us who wanted to do it right. That's where most of us on this new site found each other. Unfortunately, some MWO members were not happy about our little group. I'll get into that some other time. For now I just want to say that I'm happy to be here and hope this group grows as we share our progress.

Lena

Hi Lena! I as well am very happy we will have a place to talk about how we are doing with the Sinclair method without feeling "strange" about doing it at all! Sometimes I wondered about how some of the people on the mwo site felt about us. I am not at all a AA enthusiast and have had a negative experience with AA in the past. I also always believed there was another way and that addiction is not a life sentence of shame based repititous step clinging psycho babble. I once had a terrible sponsor years ago who in the face of serious difficult medical problems unrelated to drinking, told me over and over again that it was because I was selfish and hadn't done my steps enough. Believe me even all my friends and my doctor thought it was crazy!! I could have called her and said I got shot in the chest and she would have said it was because I was not doing my steps properly. I am so happy to have a change for the better. Best to you! Also thanks to those who created this site. I am wiling to support it in anyway I can. :D

Hi Lena,
Here we are. I spent most of my time arguing with non-believers that I have little left to sat. Actually WIP was exhausting me. I started to think that his incessant questioning, actually more like interrogation was some sort of sexual perversion for him. I would see him go through the circuit asking each of us the same question, like a farmer feeding his stock. Not sure what that was all about. In group we called that "hooking" the facilitator.
But I think I am done with it.

I am digging it - just thinking there are so many "threads" going on & hard to keep up w/ each one. Don't want to duplicate...would like to have one central place/thread where we can communicate kind-of centrally, ya know??
