So if take my pill like normal, drink until I go to bed and then wake up a few hours later and it's still the middle of the night, can I drink then or do i need to take another pill and wait another hour? Is it still considered the same day? How many hours without alcohol before it's considered a new day? What if it's a few hours between when I take my pill and i take my first drink? Thanks for the info. I want to make sure I'm doing this right...

Hi Cherise and welcome to TheSinclairMethod!

The word is you'll be covered up the 12th hour after the first dose. If you'll be drinking beyond that point, the latest guidance I've seen is to redose in the 11th hour and wait another hour till resuming.

Best to keep your first drink within 2 hours of taking the pill. You might take the pill at a set time each day, but people can stall out if they do that. Best to wait till you crave a drink, then take the pill and begin the hour countdown. You never know, some evening the craving might not come and you'll have a natural Alcohol Free evening.

If you have your first drink just rolling out of bed and there's not time to take the pill, wait an hour, then have that drink before I get to work... will this totally negate the program?

Welcome to the community xosallyoh!

It will indeed hinder your progress if you're not within 12 hours after your last dose. It sends the brain mixed messages and you need to block the endorphins 100% of the time. If you don't have time in the morning, you could take a pill when you go to bed. Eventually the first morning drink will get later and later. The addiction will back out the way it came in so you can expect to see the morning drinking go by the wayside first, then the late morning drinking, then the lunchtime drink, etc. till you basically become a late afternoon/early evening drinker.
