I've researched both TSM and LDN separately quite a bit.
I can't find much online of anyone who is on low dose naltrexone therapy routinely before bed every night AND TSM during their drinking days.
I was curious if anyone is trying treatment simultaneously. Is it possible to do both at the same time to get that "upregulator response" while we sleep for the immune system to work better?

Me.. I have been thinking about doing this.
The first night I started treatment, I did only the 1/2 tab of Nal, which ended up being too much for side effects (super spacey and heartburn) so I began taking a 1/4 tab an hour before. It's been about two weeks and I'm still on the 1/4 tab. I'm also taking an LDN dose on my AF days, right before bed.
I have fibromyalgia and a whacky immune system. Right now I'm fighting rashes (not from the Nal) my body's attacking itself, seems to be allergic to everything, food, chemicals, etc. The rashes have been going on for 4 months.
Doc put me on steroids to kill the rash... and it worked.. but I could've blown a gasket if people looked at me wrong. Steroids messed badly with me. So I quit the steroids and the rash doubled.

What I've noticed is the rash is lessening with LDN use. And the depressed, low feeling I was getting (along with the cravings) is minimal. My body is less achy. I feel more positive, and calm. I'm on a real low dose still at this point. Even on a low dose, I'm drinking less and its not consuming my mind.

I think I'm going to try the usual dose of Nal I'm taking (1/4 tab for now) 1 hr before drinking... and also LDN before I go to bed, regardless. I don't think it will hurt me or hurt to try it.
If anyone has any ideas, thoughts or suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Hi, I'll be interested to read about how you get on. I have sometimes thought of trying LDN, not because I have any ailment (luckily!) I'd like to treat but just out of curiosity. If I understand you, you're taking 4mg every night before bed and 12.5 mg on drinking nights, is that right?

If you are experiencing up-regulation with LDN during the day, this might explain your reduced desire to drink at night, you don't feel as sick/bad as usual so the drive to drink is diminished???

Also, have you ever tried eliminating gluten (and/or lactose) from your diet? I have a friend with Fibromalgia and she notices a big difference within days of stopping gluten. Try it.

Good luck.

Curi

Hi Curi :)
Yes, since I posted, I indeed have been taking up to 4.5ml at night... AND also testing up to 4.5ml in the morning.
I feel so good its hard to describe. It licked the coffee habit from 14 cups daily to about 4. Great mood, focused, more energy, and way less large joint pain. I'm still taking the 1/4 tab Nal on my drinking nights, and it seems to work great with 4 hours spaced between the lowdose TSM and the LDN.
Currently I'm holding steady at 4ml am & 4ml pm with no issues. I may lower it a smidge if the midnight wakeup continues.

Regarding the day up-regulation and diminished cravings..
Maybe.. honestly I didn't want to get so re-addicted to what I used to be like.. like wake up with my arm hanging in the toilet.. Yeah, I have felt less cravings in the day, I'm still in guinea pig testing :) so far I haven't increased the 1/4tab dose but I should, it's time.

About the diet changes..
I'm on the most boring, strict diet.. chicken, oatmeal, olive oil, plain rice, fish, milk, basil flakes, salt, coffee or decaf tea.
A bit of sugar in anything gets a small reaction. Ripe fruits, cheeses, most veggies- off the menu.
Still testing real butter. Margarine had soybean in it, had reaction. I hope real butters okay- because olive oil in morning oatmeal is disgusting!
Everything else seems to trigger a response within an hour, including wheat, yeast, soys, sulfite products, and little things like paint thinner, sunscreen lip balm, and stress. I do react to hard alcohol a little, vodka seems the least so far. I'm hoping the LDN will regulate my immune system SOON, because I can't afford to lose weight on this picky diet.

Laity of the thought is done for the individuals. The same connotation of the craftresumes.com is clicked for the individuals. It is mentioned for the top of the study for the humans. It is harmonious relation for the people for all joys and bloggers in the field of the actual items or the humans.
