i read about nalmephemene--is it different, as or more effective-same side effects? I am doing much better after starting Nal but styill not where I want to be after seven months.

Nalmefene (Selincro) is metabolized via the kidneys rather than via the liver like Naltrexone. The word is that the side effects can be pretty rough, but still some people take it and don't even feel a thing.

Are you using the mindfulness approach with your drinking? Does the first drink of the day disappear quickly? Have you tried forcing an Alcohol Free day to see if you still get the urge?

Fiddleplayer - UKB was on Selincro and the SE's are pretty grim. Joanna on the other forum took it simply to see what it was like so that she would have some idea when people posted about it - she said it was wicked! I do not think it is any better than nal - just different. Hang in there - I know that to you, 7 months seems like a long time but in the grand scheme of things it really isn't - have faith and be patient!
