Sorry if this is a repeat question. I am 90 pages into 'The Cure For Alcoholism' and 1 month into taking Nal according to The Sinclair Method. I am doing well with it I just haven't heard from anyone anywhere that tells how long one is supposed to remain on it. I have committed to 6 months of Nal with my psychiatrist. Am I supposed to stay on it forever? Thanks for your help!

Goatmaster, yes, as long as you are planning to drink you take nal one hour before, forever. I know that seems daunting..........it did to me too at first. But now I am at the point where I am happy to do that if it will help me get this under control. Good luck, Newlife

At first that seems daunting. Then you realize how ridiculous your thinking is: Gee, a life of alcoholism, or take a pill before I drink...

I have to take a thyroid pill every day for the rest of my life or I'll have health problems. It's an easy decision.

Yes IF and only IF you continue to drink.

Main reason for relapse on TSM is drinking without nal.

If you don't drink at all, which is a point some people do reach, then no need to take the pill, or if you drink infrequently, then only need to take the pill when you do drink.

There's no need to take it on non-drinking days.
