Hi There:

I am new and need some support. I got my Naltrexone from India for a very large price. Although I feel some decline in alcohol cravings, I am still drinking the same amount or even more with no crazy high just the drunk feeling. I feel something is wrong with me! I started last Monday so it has almost been a week. I desperately want to stop but have gotten to the point where I can't. I hate myself and what I have become due to circumstances in my life.

The only good thing I think is from NAL is that I went out with friends and was very, very good about monitoring myself but did drink once I got home.

Also, has anyone every experienced EXTREME constipation!

I feel like this is my last hope!

Welcome!

I just finished my 6th week, so I'm still a newbie.

I would not worry just yet because it takes a while for the NAL to work, not one week!

I noticed from the onset that my drinking was not as enjoyable and at times I kept drinking trying to get that good feeling, unsuccessfully. I think that's part of the process and then eventually we lose interest in doing that as extinction occurs.

Hang in there!

maggiemay...just a question for you...I notice that you have a TON of AF days this week! You go girl! My question is this: this is my 2nd AF day in a row (week 6) but I did take the nal both nights as I planned on drinking, but I did not. On any of your AF days have you taken the Nal? In thinking about it, I realize that the NAL does reduce my cravings and I guess dimmed my desire to drink. I read on this board that the sinclair method still takes some trying on the users part. The medicine can only do so much, but you have to figure out what the triggers are.

Thanks,
spbx

hi spbx -

congrats on your af days!!!

i had lots of af days last week due to a terrible hangover and not feeling too well on the other days so i can only take partial credit. :)

i didn't take nal on any of those days and i don' t recall if i've taken it without drinking before that. i'm usually pretty certain about when i'll be drinking.

for me, so far, it has been fairly effortless, the nal is doing the work. i've gotten in trouble the few times i kept drinking, chasing the buzz.

I have had many days where I WAS SURE I was going to drink, and then changed my mind as I approached the gas station, and made my way home AF. That is not protocol, however, for some of us, the rare AF day is a huge victory as opposed to 1 day out of protocol.

Yes, I take the Nal most days, and still drink most days. My trend has been about 1 AF day per week. About every other week, the AF day will consist of me taking the Nal and then choosing somehow, not to drink at all.

I'm continuously working towards several AF days with no Nal, but I am totally happy when I do take the Nal and don't drink occasionally.
