Hello,
I am on week 3 of TSM. I have cut my drinking in approx. 1/2 (based on weekly average). I only had 1 AF day.
My question is: What if I take the nal and decide that night not to drink? Will that sabotage TSM? I almost feel like I have to drink when I take the nal. Nal 1 hour before + drinking = cure.
Thank you!

Hi,
I remember wondering about this myself when I first started out. Usually, if I'd taken my Nal but didn't want to drink I'd have a very small glass of wine as I didn't want to "waste" the pill. However, I'm fairly sure that's not necessary. On page 205 of the book Eskapa says "it does not matter if patients occasionally take naltrexone without drinking. In contrast, it is very important that patients never drink without taking naltrexone "
I guess if it's only occassionally then it will be ok. You wouldn't want to take nal, not drink, but then do other endorphin releasing activities (such as exercise) as it could block the pleasure from the healthy activities instead.
I'm no expert and I'm sure other people will chime in with their thoughts.
Good luck,
Ruth.

If I felt like not drinking I didn't and it didn't harm my success.

Any and all AF time is worthwhile in my books.
