Hi All,

After research it seems this is my best way forward in my life. I've tried everything.

I have a few quick questions

1. Im planning on getting the Naltrexone (Vivitrol) shot (probably tom, maybe after blood test). Should i wait a few days before drinking after the shot?
2. Im planning on drinking this weekend. I've heard varying responses regarding how "buzzed" one gets. I don't drink everyday, but when i drink I typically drink a whole 750ml of vodka. binge. What sort of buzz will i get from this on Nel?
3. Is it safe to drink that much in a day on the shot?

I'm looking mainly for ideas from people that have had the shot, but open to pill folks as well (it should be the same thing right). I've had the pill before, but didn't know about TSM at the time, so i never drank since i was afraid it would have a bad reaction. Then i'd skip the pill on days i wanted to drink. Let me know if I should post this question somewhere else...I'm new here. Thanks a bunch.

Sorry JJ, but I can't help you regarding the injectable Vivitrol because the entire TSM protocol revolves around taking the pill an hour before a drinking session. It is my understanding that the Vivitrol is used as an adjunct to total abstinence. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Keek

The forum is quieter that it used to be, that's true. But I also think there are very few people with Vivitrol experience. Wish we could be of more help.

There shouldn't be much of a subjective difference between pill and shot form, except that the shot form is constant. So, yes, it is "safe" to drink at those levels -- there's no conceivable reaction between vivitrol the drug and alcohol the drug. Regarding how it will feel, everybody is different. Many to most notice only subtle subjective experiences, some notice major differences, some NO difference. Again, though, TSM requires pill form, at least in the long term. Shots are considered a good first step (i.e. 1-2 months). They are so expensive, though, and theoretically dull all your endorphin producing experiences.
