All right, I'm a little bit confused as to how many units there are in a 750ml bottle of vodka! Some of the pages I'm looking at indicate that there are 30, but then others suggest that it's more around 15-17? I feel like I must be doing the math wrong, or getting confused with the UK/US conversions, so I figured I could definitely trust one of you to give me a straight response! I would prefer to go by the US method, so if someone could help me with this, I'd be grateful. Thanks, guys!

And by the way, try drinking something a little less harsh than vodka. If you can make it on beer or wine, your liver will thank you for it!

I don't find it harsh, and I find it a lot less heavy-feeling on the stomach than beer or wine. I always mix it with something, so it's a full drink on its own accord. :P Also, I think that if you consider it in terms of units, doesn't it make no difference on your liver whether it's beer, wine or liquor? Just wondering out loud!

That's why you want to drink beer or wine. You want that "heavy feeling" -- it will enable you to reduce your numbers.

That approach actually doesn't work for me, in fact... When I choose to drink beer rather than vodka, say, I'll easily just try to go through beer a lot faster and harder, and I usually end up consuming the same amount of units I would if it was vodka! Scary, but true. Oh well... I really hope TSM works for me, is all I can say! Thanks for the advice. :)

Okay now this is a subject I DEFINITELY know about!
I had to start measuring my intake a couple years back (whether wine or vodka) and it might behoove you to buy a measuring glass for a couple of bucks.

Its average US Fl. OZ is 50ml or 1.69ozs (I round up to 1.7)
so hence in a 750ml bottle of Vodka there are 15 units.
Its just that simple.

Although these days if you go to a bar and order one of those tall drinks i would count that as a double or roughly 100ml or 3.2 ozs

If you have a blackberry I strongly advise you to invest in the "Blood Alcohol Calculator" App if you are continuing to drink as you can customize it and punch it everytime you go for a drink.
